International Brain Mapping Program

PC104 | AANS International Brain Mapping Program

Friday, May 1 | 6:45 am – 4 pm
$750 Physicians & Non-Physicians | $200 Neurosurgical Team, Residents/Fellows and Medical Students

This expert-led, hands-on clinic showcases the latest advances in preoperative and intraoperative brain mapping for brain tumor and functional neurosurgery. Featuring an international faculty of leaders in the field, the session uses real-world case examples to demonstrate and compare mapping techniques—ranging from anatomical localization to functional assessment. Interactive polling and audience engagement are integrated throughout, creating a dynamic learning environment where participants can explore complex clinical decision-making in real time. Ideal for neurosurgeons, trainees, and researchers aiming to stay at the forefront of surgical mapping innovations. A light breakfast will be served from 6:45 – 7:15 am and a boxed lunch will be provided at midday.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe both the anatomical and functional organization of eloquent cortex relevant to surgical planning.
  2. Explain the clinical indications for brain mapping in tumor and functional neurosurgery.
  3. Identify limitations in sensitivity and specificity associated with various brain mapping techniques.
  4. Recognize emerging research areas and novel technologies in the field of brain mapping.
